The S-A140 Hand valve is most often used to snub the trailer service brakes when descending grades or on slippery road conditions. It is also often used to hold the vehicle while the clutch and accelerator are coordinated.
It is never used for parking. It is an "in-column mount" in the steering column opposite the turn signal switch.
