Is this hood spring 18 inches long end to end or just the spring it self ? the one i'm looking for is 18 inches total with 13.5 of spring...

When I measured this spring the total length of the coil is about 15" and the hooks are at 18.25". AM1047104 has a 13-3/8" spring but it is 17-1/4" from hook to hook. We don't have a hood spring with your exact dimensions but these are the two closest options. They are typically sold by cross referencing the manufacturers part number.

Hello would like to know if this item will fit on a kenworth 97 W900L. The hood is a fiberglass heavy.

The only way to confirm that it is the correct spring for certain is to match it up with the OEM part number of L711002 or L71-1002.
