Leaf Springs 43-967 Details

Leaf Springs Important Role

Your leaf springs are one of the most important parts of your trucks suspension. If your leaf springs are shot or showing fatigue from old age, it is recommended to change them both out at the same time. If you only change one leaf spring, it is common that your truck will lean toward the side with the older leaf spring. If you purchase one leaf spring and decided to replace the other one at a later date, you may receive a spring from another manufacturer as we source our springs from multiple manufacturers. It is recommend to replace them in pairs to guarantee a match.

Replacing your leaf springs with a high quality OEM leaf spring from Michigan Truck Spring will help improve your ride in the following ways:

  • Less bounce, which means more solid contact with the road and therefore longer tire life.
  • Driver comfort is greatly improved.
  • Your payload sits tight, significantly reducing cargo damage.
  • Smoother ride and less bottoming out.
  • Safety! Your truck will handle better which means it's safer.

All the leaf springs at TruckSpring.com are made to or exceed OEM quality:

  • Made from SAE 5160 Steel, Same as OEM leaf springs.
  • All raw steel is manufactured by steel mills that use the continuous cast (Stran-cast) process, same as OEM leaf springs.
  • Each leaf from the leaf springs is shot peened to specific intensity and coverage.
  • Each leaf spring is coated to prevent corrosion and rust.

If you have any questions about how to identify the correct leaf spring for your vehicle or need bolts or other replacement parts, call us at 1-800-358-4751.

Customer Q&A - Leaf Springs 43-967

I have a 1999 mercury mountaineer with rear sag on the driver side. The spring code is BF I understand the F is for the rear spring Is this spring the correct replacement?

Asked
The correct leaf spring for an F code on a 1999 Mountaineer is a 43-1159.

I have a 1999 explorer v8. I am trying to fix the excessive rear sag with the higher rates rear leaf springs. Any body out their done this ?

Asked
You can change springs to increase weight capacity but many spring models will have a different arch which may change ride height. The spring options for the 1999 Explorer vary from 4-13/16" to 6-1/2". It may be best to call us with the spring code from the driver door to confirm which spring will give you the best result.

Will this leaf fit 96 Ford Explorer 2 door sport 2wd?

Asked
This leaf spring is correct for a 1996 Ford Explorer Sport 2DR with 2WD.

you show two replacements available for a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer; SRI Number 43-967 (1,250 lbs.) and SRI Number43-1159 (1,100 lbs.). my Q. is which one will restore my vehicle to the factory ride height? i noticed the 1250 lb. spring has an arc almost 2 inches less than the 1,100 lb. spring. please advise, randy

Asked
To find the exact replacement spring on a Ford vehicle the spring code should be used. The spring code is located on the driver door jam on the information sticker. It is a two digit code. Feel free to call us at 1-800-358-4751 with the code and we can confirm the cross.

Will these fit in a 1994 Ford Flare Side ?

Asked
Leaf spring 43-967 will fit a 1991-2002 Ford Explorer and 1983-2003 Ford Ranger. Flare Side does not impact which spring is used.

I was wondering if i ordered leaf springs from here if they came as singles or as a pair?

Asked
Leafs springs are sold individually. You will need to order a quantity of 2 for a pair.

What is the warranty?

Asked
The Ford replacement leaf springs have a 2 year warranty against manufacturer defects. The warranty is for replacement and does not cover shipping charges. They are direct OEM replacement leaf springs that often come from the same plants as the OEM springs.

Leaf Springs

At TruckSpring / Michigan Truck Spring, we obtain our leaf springs from various sources throughout the world. All of the manufacturers that we represent produce leaf springs that are as good as or better quality than OEM springs.

Virtually no vehicle manufacturer actually manufactures their own leaf springs. Like many other truck components, leaf springs are purchased from companies specializing in supplying parts to truck manufacturers. The springs we sell have the same or better quality as OEM springs and many times are purchased from the same manufacturer.

Leaf Springs Warranty

1 Year Limited Warranty

On all leaf springs.

What the warranty does not cover

Damage from accidents, corrosion, improper installation, incorrect applications, overloading, and custom applications that are not specified under the OEM cross references. This warranty does not cover loss of freight, loss of profit, equipment, or personal downtime. Any alteration of products will void the warranty. Warranty is void if new u-bolts are not installed when the new leaf spring is installed. Using existing u-bolts is a common cause for leaf spring breakage and failure.
