Spring, Frame and Shock Brackets for Semi-Trucks & Trailers
The high demand placed on heavy duty suspensions can take its toll on a large variety of components and they may need to be replaced as they wear. In some cases, brackets may wear or break and require replacement if bushing wear is extreme and the suspension can shift. Accidents where a collision occurs can cause extensive suspension damage and components that do not normally wear may require replacement.
Shock brackets can become bent or damaged if shock absorbers fail and lock up. The shock absorber may be binding at a certain point in its normal travel, and as the suspension moves the energy that the shock would normally absorb will be transferred to the upper and lower mounts. If a mount is bent or broken and being replaced the shock absorber should also be replaced and the other side inspected as shock are normally replaced in pairs and they will wear together.
Eye castings and center frame brackets can be damaged by extreme bushing wear. When the bushing has so badly deteriorated that the suspension parts that are normally retained can move freely and contact other suspension parts. A missing bushing can damage both the bracket and the part that it was isolating, and this can result in extensive repair bills. Ignoring relatively inexpensive bushings can pay you back ten-fold in damage caused.
